Good info. Not prefect, but I try and kill an aged animal on most hunts now over pure score. The aged animal is just smarter and more of a challenge.
Side note my uncle killed an official scored whitetail at 203 and change inches, that was 3 1/2 years old. Genetics over age most any day.

I agree, killing the older animal is always more challenging.
