I'm still kind of in shock. I drew a unit S6 Ram tag. I'm interested in any resources ie. books, videos, etc, etc, to help a rookie sheep hunter out. S6 is the Pikes Peak unit. Any sheep nuts wanna go??? Anyone else ever draw this tag?

Congratulations to you! I wish you the best and hope you get a gorgeous sheep! They are very good eating too, and we expect to see lots of pictures so we can live through you vicariously!!

Guy's, thanks for all the congrats! I still can't believe I've actually drawn a sheep tag! Like a lot of you I apply in several different states for different species and this is my first quality tag I've drawn. Funny that it's in my home state in a unit that's in my backyard! I keep waiting for the DOW to call and tell me they made a mistake! LOL! Someone asked how many points I had... I had 7. The hunt dates are Sept 23 thru Oct 7, I've already requested and got these two weeks off work. I'll be spending a lot of time scouting this summer too. I've spent some time backpacking and hiking on Pikes Peak already. I was very serious about asking if anyone with more experience sheep hunting than me is interested in going. If your interested shoot me a PM with your hunting resume... just kidding. But seriously, if your interested or know someone who might be, let me know! I read Mike Duplans article in the annual sheep issue and he hit on the fact that there's no shame in finding some guy's who've hunted sheep in the past to help you out... I couldn't agree more. What can I say the sheep have got me shameless!

Congratulations and good luck! Duplan's article was an awesome one, and had some great advice for a guy in your position. Don't forget to bring a camera and a camcorder!

I hope some of your luck comes over and makes a stop in the Montana draw for a fellow Eastman's Forum member.

Congrats you have got a good tag and its proximity to home is a huge plus. I do not know a lot about sheep other than the experience I had hunting them with my dad in S17 about 6 years ago. If you want send me a pm and I will send you my experiences with them. Like I said I do not know much but I would be very happy to share what I know. (Also have a buddy and his dad who hunted sheep somewhere in those parts awhile back, I will contact him and see exactly where it was)
