Hunting Foothills

So I have read a few books on mule deer hunting and have poured through tons of pages on here. Most everything I read/find is in regards to hunting higher elevations. I got lucky and received permission to hunt some private property in the foothills in D8.

Anyone have any tricks for hunting them in the foothills? I am going to get cameras on a few waterholes I have already found and try to do some glassing to get an idea of patterns. I know most the deer down low are residential and therefore I think I should be able to treat them similar to whitetails.

If I am wrong, please let me know along with any ideas you may have.

Even though it will be hot, midday can be pretty productive glassing shady hillsides. Most of the deer I have killed in CA have been between 10 and 2.
