Hoping to draw a type 9 tag this year near Cody. Anyone else put in for 54, 51 or 53 units type 9 elk tags? How is the winter weather been up there this year? Hopefully can draw a tag and start planning my hunt. I love WY draw being so early give you lots of time to plan out your hunt, if drawn that is and stare at the google earth night after night waiting for Sept to go hunt. LOL

Anyone know of a good horse drop camp in the old 121 unit new 53 or 54 units?

no drop camps around here and the winter has been pretty cold and a lot of snow this year, the snow piled up this last Saturday and sunday and we have had quite a few days of below zero temps. I believe snow pack is already 120% of normal, however that's not all bad. What area did you apply for?

gocougs,

Kiddwinner is right. My living room picture window faces those elk areas, this AM as the sun came up the old girl was pretty white up there. Our weather has turned off warm this week and looks to be the same next week, but up until now, it has been very white and cold. I think the elk should do okay though. They went into the winter in extremely good shape this year and the green up should be very, very strong this year. It is going to be a very green spring and summer around here. I just checked the snow tel report and it looks like those drainages are running about 150% of normal for snowpack. Good luck in the draw.
