I'm just curious how many firefighters are on the Eastmans forums. I have been a full-time firefighter for 8 years now and currently work in Joplin, Mo. I love my job and love hunting as well. I have never been hunting out west but I plan on going in 2016. I have always wanted to go elk hunting and Im going to make it happen next year! So I would love to know where everyone else works and what kind of hunting you do.

Been full time firefighter for about 7 years now. Live in Rapid City, SD. I went to CO on elk hunt last year. Had a blast without filling my tag. Plan on going elk hunting next year. This year it will be turkeys, antelope and deer here in SD. Maybe some bowfishing this spring.

Collateral duty wildland fire with USFWS and volunteer EMS out of Eastern, MT. We are primarily IA with engines just because we really don't get many larger fires (usually <1000 acres) but we usually go on a couple details every summer. Plus all the prescribed fire a man could want in the spring. I argue I have the best job in the world! Wildlife surveys, maintenance, fire in the summer, and research in the winter. But I do live in the rural of the rural which has is positives and negatives.

I sure do miss the mountains though. :(

Was a volunteer for 8 yrs in Riverton before moving. Ran city & rural calls around there and did some instructing at the state fire academy there on occasion during our fire school. Plan on joining up again in my new location once my work schedule gets a little more consistent. Quite a few smoke eaters around the forum! Good to see ;)

Full time volunteer for 9 years in MT. We average 300 calls a year. We do not do any medical calls unless they are car wrecks that have extrication. I'm in the woods as much as I can, from chasing elk to running hounds on cats. I'm also a full time General Contractor and Framing Contractor.

24 years as a volunteer in No. Minnesota. After I retired from the PD and FD, I worked seasonally for 10 years as a wildland firefighter for the DNR. Currently am striving to complete my resume as a professional unpaid hunting, fishing, canoeing, snowmobiling bum.
