Im planning another trip to alaska next year and my wife is going with on a caribou hunt and look for a good tent. I have a big agnes fly creek ul3 right now but might need to get a little more durable one. The guys using hilleberg tents what are you using? I am looking at the hilleberg nammatj 3 GT which is a black label one and there toughest material and weights 8lbs 13oz. The other on is the Nallo 3 GT which is a red label with a little less robust material that the black label on and this one weights 6lbs 13oz. The only thing that is holding me back is if i spend the money on one i want to use it for my colorado and wyoming back country hunts so i don't want it to weigh a ton. What are your thoughts? Thanks

I am going to run a Nallo 2 this year. I would not want it for 2 people. Maybe the Nallo 2 GT. I have my Nallo 2 down to 5lbs 1 3/4oz. I was messing with it yesterday and weighed it. It is as heavy as I want for a shelter, since I hunt solo most of the time.

Brady,
I am using a Kaitum3 and really like it. I've used it for the 3 of us and it works, but it's better for 2 people. It's held up under a modest snow-load (3"-4"), and moderate wind. It wouldn't be my first choice on the Alaska Peninsula where 35 knots is a calm day!

You'll like Hilleberg, they're a quality tent.
