Well I've been on here for about a year now, made a couple posts then but mostly just like reading what everyone has to say. Figured I'd introduce myself finally as I'm extremely serious about making trips out west as I've finally convinced my father to come with.
I'm Derek, 29 soon to be 30 from west central Wisconsin. Die hard outdoorsman, primarily whitetail hunting, bear hunting and fishing both open water and hard water.Got a wife with 2 kids all of whom I love more than anything.
Like I said I've mostly hunted whitetail in Wisconsin and quite frankly I'm tired of looking for leases and hunting the same public areas for the last 12 years, although for my age I consider myself very fortunate for building my current trophy room. Now, I'd like to start adding other species of critters to that. I look forward to continue reading and receiving everyone's opinion on all the various subjects of the western hunting world. Derek.
Btw, my dad and I are looking to do our first muley hunt this year and looking at going to Colorado, Wyoming, or south Dakota as last option. He isn't in great climbing shape so gentler areas are higher priority. If anyone can suggest a place to start that resembles that with numbers/a decent chance at seeing animals that'd be wonderful. We have zero points anywhere but I'm aware of the different possible options to acquire a tag with zero points in places. Anyway thanks in advance fellas.
