I've been in contact with an old neighbor who lives in Estes Park and works in RMNP. He is a big hunter and the phone conversation I had with him was very informative. We talked for over an hour and listened and answered to all of my list of questions. The nice thing is that he talked about most of the topics that I had questions on and that tells me that I am on the right track with my research.
The next step would be to call the DOW and biologists to start to look at GMUs that are OTC. I would think that I could find someone who can do a drop camp or something close to that without having to dump money to an outfitter. I haven't even scratched that surface yet.
This is definitely possible and I will be looking at an "in between DIY and outfitter".
