Hello everyone.

I've been hunting for 21 years and in the fall of 2013 I made my first trip to Wyoming where I was successful in taking both a mule deer and antelope. The mule deer was region C and the lope was a OTC tag that was purchased while I was out there.

It was quite the experience and I learned a lot. On that note I have decided to go back this fall and will be purchasing a left over lope tag. I know the difficulties with land access but have a GPS with the land ownership chip.

If anyone has some advice on the areas with leftover tags it would be greatly appreciated. I know I could go back to unit 16 but would like to try a different area. What about unit 19? Does anyone lope hunt unit 2 in the black hills?

I figure I will keep going out in difficult areas until I can bud up enough points to draw a better area. Any hunting is better than no hunting.

I signed up last fall for EHJ and have been lurking on these forums for a while.

Thanks in advance for the help and knowledge these forums provide.

I can't see my pictures or post with the pictures online or with tapatalk. So if others can see the post they are both out of unit 16. One was shot in the afternoon and the other the very next morning. Never even planned on hunting lope that year but some nice fellas from California told us we could go buy leftover tags so that's what we did.

If you did well in 16, I would go back there. The leftover list is pretty slim this year without a whole lot of options.

I thought I would update this. I ended up going to unit 17 and was very successful. Two of us went. We killed a total of 6 antelope with each of us shooting a buck and two does. The bucks were killed with archery equipment and the does shot with rifles.
