I know you have to purchase a license before applying but do you have to buy the habitat management and access validation stamp? If so and you don't draw, is it refundable?

The Desert BH is just a dream. Elk not likely with 6% caps. Barbary sheep is not until February of next year so it won't conflict. I'm going either elk or sheep hunting this year. Points only for deer and antelope in the states I apply in (except Pansuagaunt unit in Utah!) I'll go otc in Colorado if all the draws fail. I've never hunted elk before and I've got to soon or I'll go crazy.

This is my first year applying in NM. My odds are as good/bad as everybody else though.

Unit 51 in the north central is a good unit for average bulls but a whole lot of em. I don't know what your lookin for trophy wise but fairly easy to draw late rifle comparatively speaking.
