Greys River

Anyone have good information about greys river unit 90 elk. Planning to hunt this unit in October and done a lot of research online. I contacted Gary Fralick biologist and he’s going to get back to me after holiday. Just curious about cell phone coverage, camping areas, trails, weather, fishing, etc. we plan to stay a week or longer if needed. I understand it will be busy but we plan to put in work for elk, and have a great time. Any info is welcome posted or PM.

I have never hunted Unit 90 in Wyoming. That being said I have a buddy who used to hunt it pretty regularly. He always used an outfitter and took some nice bulls. Pretty rugged and lots of Grizzleys where he hunted. The only reason he doesn't hunt it anymore is he is getting older and has MD in his eyes.

Gotcha. I’ll keep that in mind. If 90 doesn’t workout always 92/94 and 104

Lots of grizzlies in 90? I would say you are thinking of a different area. 90 has very few grizzlies, and they would be very rare to see in that country currently. 90 is South in the greys river range. If you are talking about 60 up by yellowstone line...then yes, tons of grizzlies there. But 90 is zero wilderness, and aside from the occasional reported grizzly sighting, its an area where i wouldnt even think of hanging my food if i was backpacking cause they are that rare.

You are right, I was thinking of a unit I hunted up by the Tetons. Brain was slow that day!!!

I appreciate the info guys. We plan to put in a couple days of scouting once there to get the lay of the land. Oh I’ll for sure bring fishing gear too.

Best advice in all of that country is find big vantage points and glass. The more you can se, the more likely you kill.
