I thought that this would be a good time to find out what everyone is reading or wants to read. Being close to Christmas there could possibly be gift ideas that arise or just reading material for the deerstand. Yes, the deerstand; where I grew up deer hunting consisted of sitting in sub-zero temperatures waiting for the same doe and fawn to make an appearance at the pile of frozen produce stacked up fifty yards downrange on the edge of the cedar swamp. This activity made watching paint dry seem like a sunday afternoon nascar race and therefore, I spent a lot of time reading about actual hunting!

Here goes... Twilight, Hunger Gam... gotcha! Seriously, let 'er rip!

I am reading "The Highway" by C.J.Box. Wainting on the new Joe Picket by him that is on order. Read all the Picket books which are about Joe Picket, a Wyoming Game Warder. Love them....as good or better than Longmire.

Non-fiction; American Sniper by the late Chris Kyle, and I'm just starting The Bedford Boys by Alex Kershaw.

Just got a new one to read last night as a birthday present frpm my wife. Massacre at Bear River First, Worst, Forgotten by Rod Miller. Its history about the 3rd California Batallion during the Civil War. They were stationed in Cache Valley, Utah and Ft. Ruby, Nev. fighting indians. My GGG Grandfather was a member and was a pioneer in Austin, Nev and southern California. Can't wait to get started.

I agree, LOVE the Joe Pickett novels!!

Lol.Grizz as soon as I saw twilight, I thought maybe you had gone crazy. I don't think I know of anyone in your profession that likes those books!

Have only read the first C.J. Box novel and enjoyed it.

Jen, must agree about the "profession" and its opinion of Mrs. Meyer's vampire romances. However, I have been part and parcel to some interesting feminist discussions about Bella Swan... WOW! Didn't mean to go there, yuck!

Besides work related and Thesis related materials I'm reading Nathaniel Philbrick's new book about Custer and Sitting Bull entitled The Last Stand. Riveting so far. A must for all western history buffs.

I have read and enjoyed the following over the last 3 years:

All the CJ Box books
All the Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn
All the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child
Not as good but readable was the Scott Harvarh series by Brad Thor

And I'll get crap for this, I really enjoyed The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

I'm now reading The Walt Longmire series by Craig Johnson.

And I'll give a plug for my Great Uncle, he wrote 2 books. The first one is about Wild horse Robbins, he used a plane and natural corrals in the Red Desert of Wyoming. My great uncles were some crazy cowboys.
His books are : Wild Horse Robbins, Wild Horse Country in Wyoming.
