Well I finally got the chance to add one to my collection. I have had the pleasure of shooting the lever action Henry repeater many times. Having two young sons that are coming up in age to do some real gun shooting I couldnt wait to buy my own. I was blessed with an unexpected Christmas Bonus this year from my work and it was just enough to put one in my hands.
If you have never had the opportunity to go plinking with one of these guns, you are missing out on a really fun treat. Super accurate, no recoil. Great sights for teaching young shooters how to aim, as well as for the advanced shooters getting on target fast.
Smooth as silk lever actions, easy cleaning. And beautiful to look at too! I came home from a hitch, bought this gun and was out shooting with my oldest on the same day. He was pretty excited and even surprised me with his fast skills. He had two 10 ring shots as well as a single hole with two shots in the 9 ring.
My first set up was at 20 yards. I put 4 of 5 shots in the same hole and twitched on the 5th shot just sending it 1/4" high and right. Knowing the rifle is as sound as it is, I look forward to many more trips with my boys.
