Well today is my 74th birthday and I somehow just don't feel like it. Yes I have aches and pains, but when I think about my upcoming deer hunt in a couple of weeks, they seem to fade away.......at least for awhile. LOL What makes me feel old is that my son turns 50 next month!

I figure I have 10 or 15 years left in me, so plenty of time to wear out another truck, a bunch of boots and burn lots of gunpowder!

Happy Birthday CC. I believe you have 20 years at least. My dad just turned 66 in August. He is a beast like you.

We just finished 6 days rowing and fishing the Madison River. It is a demanding row for those who have never been on this river. We basically floated about 17 miles a day which takes about 10 hours with all the catching and stopping. He was acting like he's getting old and won't be able to hang much longer. After 6 full days fishing and about 7 hours of being on a plane yesterday and 12 hours total travel time this morning he was pressure washing the house. He's an animal. It's all mental. If you believe and just get after it, then you can accomplish anything.

Good luck on the upcoming adventure. GATA!

Well what a coincidence C.C., It's my birthday too! Only I'm just a puppy at 61! See, I knew we had a ton in common!!
Happy birthday my friend.
I leave in 2 weeks for a 8 day Sitka blacktail hunt on Kodiak. Same time frame as your deer hunt...best of hunting to us both!!

I had my 68th birthday on the 6th. Just keep on trucking!. I am thinking that I have maybe 20 more left. Maybe not as fast as the last 60, but I can still walk a bit, I can still pull the trigger, and I can still wield a skinning knife. Age is just another obstacle on a long road.

I do believe staying in shape is the key. Since I retired about a year and a half ago I have time for a lot of exercise and have never felt better. At 53 I should have at least another 25 good years of hunting to go. Then I'll just be the camp cook.
