General rifle season

I was curious about rifle hunting deer in the high country in western Wyoming. Can you purchase an over the counter tag and if so when is the season?

There are no OTC tags for big game for NRs in Wyoming and about the only leftover tags in July that would be considered high country would be in the northcentral part of the state in October in Region Y in the northern BigHorn mountains west of Sheridan and Buffalo.

In WY NR general deer tags are divided into regions (groups of units). They are OTC for residents and the OTC resident tag is good for any region but NR's have to choose a region and draw for them. G is the hardest to draw, most others can be drawn with 0-1 point and some have leftover tags. You apply for them at the same time you would apply for LE units in March.
