Hello All,

It looks like I was successful in the mountain goat drawing even though I havent received the paper tag like it seems everyone else has. The reason I applied there is that I was told that there was pretty good access to the area and hoping the nanny tag might have been easier to draw with my narrowing window of huntability for such hunts. I am a diabetic with neuropathy and struggle with equalibrium (sp). Wondering if anyone out there may have some knowledge of the area to get me started in the right direction? any and all information would be most appreciated and maybe can return the favor if possible. feel free to P.M. me if you can think of anything that might help me out or you can e-mail me at [email protected].

Thanks in advance Kent

Get over to the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society forum; just ask and you'll get good info. Also if you can plan on making the trip to the sheep/goat hunter orientation it's definitely worth your time.

Thank you for the information sheephunter, I will look into that forum. Still no tag in hand. Called Denver office yesterday and was shuffled around then told it shows you drew but call back at the end of month??? what ever that is suppose to mean? I did see somewhere that the orientation is suppose to be towards the end of June and trying to make plans for that as well. If I ever get my tag I am sure all that info will be with it. Thanks so much for that info. I will try to dig into some of it. Not sure if I got the right map but bought the Breckenridge national geo recreation map to get a start on the roads and trails to get into the country. If you ever have anything you might need feel free to pick my brain.

update,

I got off work this morning, jumped in bed and was back awake by 11 am. Got up and went about paying the bills that had accumulated the last week. When done with important mail I got into the junk mail pile and low and behold there was an envelope from Colorado and inside was my Goat tag. I was so happy that I think I spotted. With all the wet cold weather I bet it will be July before I can start heading in to scout and practice my nanny identifying eyes. Now is time to find maps of the area that show trails and roads and the such. Will start trying to find the national geographic rec maps for that country. Any other ideas out there for good maps?
