Figured I'd pass this along...if it happened once.....it probably has happened before and may again.

So I got my big game post hunt survey via an email link this year. I clicked on it and went to the next page where it asked for my CID and B-day to start. Typed it in and it came back "not a valid CID", did this a few times thinking I was messing up my CID. Finally grabbed my 2015 fishing and 2015 small game tags. I had two different CIDS on them.

So I started to compare when and where I got them and info displayed on them. One from Walmart the other from Big R.
Called the CPW to sort it out. Seems the gentlemen at Big R cut a corner somehow and didn't enter the 3rd/III after my last name, so essentially a different person with the same address and same B-day. The machine then created a new CID.

CPW was very helpful and sorted it out merged the two and ensured my points were attached.

Obvious after the fact lesson learned.....read every line on your tag for correctness.

Thank you for sharing of your experience. I had bad experience with Walmart in the past, their computers are slow and freeze very often, I purchased tags but computer got frozen when they were printing them. DFG system was showing that tags purchased but I never got them, took me two days to sort it out, couple hours on the phone and had to go back to Walmart next day, got letter from manager and had to go to DFG office to fix that. Now I'm buying my tags in advance, preferably at DFG office.

Buying licenses at Wal-Mart is always an adventure. Once I was not charged for buying a NR big game license in MO. The people working in sporting goods aren't always trained properly.

All the above reasons is why I purchase all my licenses online. If they are screwed up, its my fault.

Yeah. I agree with you guys, I let my guard down and trusted a little too much and didn't check. I usually get the big game online but my small game and fishing I've been going to Big R or Walmart to get. Not anymore!
