Fletchings colors

Sounds like you are hitting something on your bow with the fletching. Its not the fletching itself. What type of arrow rest are you using. If you have a photo post it.
i shoot the long fletchings on my arrows. i used to shoot the short ones, and they kept tearing, so i switched to the long, i seem to have better luck, but after about 10 shots with each arrow the fletchings start to tear, its always the odd color, which i point down. a friend told me that was why they were tearing. should i start shooting with the odd one up? is that the problem?

Go cock vane up, that should help you. If you are still tearing fletchings you need to take a look at your rest and D-loop position on your string. If you can't figure it out yourself take it down to an archery shop, they should be able to tell you pretty quickly what's not right about the set up.
