Fishing areas near Casper?

Hey yall!
My buddies and I drew into 113, first antelope hunt! While out there, we were gonna try to work in some small game hunting and fishing. Any pointers for some first time western hunters? Slash, any good fishing areas north of Casper?

Congratulations on the antelope tag. I hope you and your friends have great success on the hunt. As for fishing near Caper it has some of the best fly fishing in the United States with the miracle mile, grey reef and the Fremont canyon sections of the North Platte River. Unfortunately these areas are southwest of Casper, so opposite of were your heading its sounds like. These are the only areas I have fished when I am near Casper.

Not much water to fish in that area. There is Powder River walk in area #1 which is just off I-25. It is two ponds or small lakes no trout though.

There are plenty of goof places to fish in Casper, the North Platte river runs right through town. Call G&F in Casper for locations to fish.

Congrats on drawing. My buddies and I have hunted 113 the last several years. If you want to go a bit further north the Hole in the Wall BLM area has some of the most scenic trout fishing not to mention history. Be warned its a hard core hike down and up but a wild adventure. You might run into some sharptailed grouse up there. Their meat is red and should be prepared like venison tenderloin.
