Well three rookie antelope hunters from pa have returned from our first antelope hunting trip. We hunted unit 45 in the hma area of Strouss hill, the goats were so spooky. However 2 of 3 tags punched, I also passed up atleast 10 does while trying to get our last buck tag punched. My brother was the only one not to tag out, he missed 2 big ones at long range. So for having no idea what the unit was like or the location of the goats I think we did ok. I wish I could have gotten one from my brother but the other guy was able to get his first kill of any kind. The disturbing thing was we did see over 15 antelope dead with either heads cut off or horns cut off, also all were missing back straps. Spoke with wgf about discovery, it sucks when you drive 26 hours only to find somebody killed that many illlegaly. Final note, I took one of the smallest bucks in the state but, he is mine and I am having steaks tonight. Thanks to all who gave me advice over the past year. Now we are going to save up points for next 2-3 years to get a good unit so my brother can get his first goat.

Congrats on the successful hunt. It is a shame to see such waste of game animals. I have seen it far to many times out antelope hunting. 3 Years ago we saw 3 antelope shot that were left to waste (no meat or head was taken). And then at the game check station there was some hunters from North Dakota who were trying to explain that the only meat they got of their goat was in a gallon ziploc bag. They got a ticket and it made me smile.

I read this elsewhere so I don't take credit .....
If they catch these clowns they should remove their back straps and leave 'em lay.
