It's been a rough season here, with really warm temperatures and no ducks for a majority of the season. Then we got that cold snap, and everything froze, even most of the big water. The river was to dangerous to run, with the big ice flow on it.. After about a full day of driving, my cousin found a pile of mallards dry feeding on a public cornfield.
We showed up the next morning, and flat hammered the ducks, shooting an 8 man limit by 11am. 4 of our guys had to leave early, so no hero shots with the full carnage..

The geese have really started showing up, and with only a few days left in our duck season, and such fickle weather, we'll probably switch over to honkers for the rest of the way. It's been a few years since we've had a really good Canada migration, but with the amount of birds that are already here, we could be in for a really good month and a half. We shot a 13 man limit of geese on Saturday at 'The Killin' Tree'. I've taken out a lot of duck season frustration in the last few days!
