So I have a nose that can't smell, eyes that need glasses, short legs that move much slower than anything else in woods. I really don't see how this is fair chase! These elk are way ahead in the game at this point! Hunter 0, Elk 4. Having fun with it anyway. Hope all of you other folks are having as much fun as I am. Enjoy your seasons! P.S. I really am having a blast!!!!!!

I am feeling your pain mattm! It is my first year bowhunting and man is it a different world, there are so many things that you take for granted rifle hunting. I have had the time of my life this summer going after antelope and deer and am definitely hooked. All I have to say is keep up the hard work and the persistence will pay off.

thats cool, i've always wanted to try it, but can't kick the rifle...i've gone with friends to call and so forth for them but have never tried myself. Looks like its a rush, at least it is for me when i'm with them, i could only imagine when your the one behind the bow. i give you and all the other bow hunters props, cause i know it ain't easy...

Really?! I kind of do both. My parents have a ranch outside of town that have a lot of deer and antelope.. I also go up to the Big Horns and look for mule deer sometimes..This year I have seen some really good mule deer up there so I may have to ditch my parents ranch.

Ok on Wed. morning I was able to get within 92 yards of the bull I've been chasing. Busted! This morning I was able get him into 72 yards. I used a cow call on him. Every thing was going really well until I looked over my shoulder and found that 3 spikes and a raggy 4pt were 35 yards from my backside. None of them could really figure out what was up, but none of them stuck around. Fun times!!!!!!!!!! Why is this called fair chase?

Matt, look at it this way, you could be behind a desk wishing you were chasing elk instead of being at work waiting for the end of september for your hunt to start...good luck man, i hope you are successful! When you finally get him on the ground this will all be worth it.

I don't feel so bad. This is my first year bow hunting in 20 years. I have been getting into bulls every time I go out. I passed on a really small 5pt 3 days ago. Every time I go out I get more excited. I can't wait for them to start talking! Let the elk follies continue.
