I agree with MWScott72. The J34 was great for carrying around my spotting scope and a days worth of gear! BUT once we killed our bull in Idaho it was very uncomfortable carrying a hind and front quarter in that thing. We had a pretty darn flat walk back to camp as well. It would have been brutal having to go through some rough terrain with that load. Im in the market for a pack as well. Looking at the Kifaru nomad. It reminds me a bit of the J34 but seems like you can do a lot more and the ext. frame will be clutch for the heavy packs in and out.
