Elk hunt day 1

first two days i was surprised at lack of elk sign in a fav area of mine, with all the late season rain we've had there has been a huge green up and food is everywhere, did see a few cows. thur i bumped a nice bull that mustve come in silently while doin some cow calling. up to this point ive heard no elk singing. thur late eve i seen a cow walk out of trees sky lined followed by a small bull, was allready to late to make anything happen but i cow called and the bull screamed at me and started trotting down hill towards me as another bull ran out of trees and screamed, they locked horns and i ended the night watching the rut kick off in the area. was pretty spectacular, got some good pics of landscape up there, ill post this coming week.
