Depending on the size of the bull that you want very little scouting may be required in this unit.

When I hunted it back in 2015 we scouted the south end but in the end we didn't find what we were looking for as far as size so we swapped to the north end only knowing the roads.

We didn't do too bad with what we took home.

It is quite possibly one unit that you could just pull into the night before the hunt and find a good bull to take home.

I have hunted it a couple of times in late season cow hunt. If you are going to burn 20 points I would suggest doing the cow hunt first. You will have to get permit from land owner unless there are some turn back tags.
Second season rifle is in my estimation not worth the points it takes to draw.
My son has 26 and hopes to draw it for early rifle one day.
What type of bull are you hoping to harvest?

Would thing minimum 300 it just getting to the point where collecting more points is a futile investment with point creep just trying to find good unit to use my points. Will look at cow hunt not bad idea

Do you have enough points to draw 1st rifle season ? I would suggest going early as to going later...... I can help you with areas to check out if able to scout the unit.

Apparently those bulls were not what you wanted, so did you see a bull worth taking?
Oh ya, into bulls almost daily. first evening my friend who was my caller called in a 4x5 to 15 yds. It was wierd passing on a legal bull, never done that before.
Had a beautiful 5x5 with lots of mass at 50 yds with nothing but air between us, but shooting a recurve my personal limit is 40yds.
Saw a number of 6x6s but only one was close enough and he was quartering to and offered no shot.
