took my friend Lew in for his first bull elk yesterday morning! once we got into position on top of the mountain it only took 30 minutes to kill an elk. we had 5 giant growling screamers and all around us very close and the giant herd bull in range. the valley was full of bulls screaming, cows cutting up everywhere and only us hunting the herd. we had one bull bump straight through the main herd right away but with so many elk, the majority of the elk settled down to which lew decided to sit and wait on the next bull to cross in range, lew put a great shot through the brush and the bull only went 15 yards. lew did draw back on a big bull but with all the brush in the way and the bull circling down wind, he couldn't get a shot. Wow, what an experience!
