Well, the deadline has come and gone for Wy elk apps, what did everyone apply for, myself, NR max points unit 120....hopefully have a little luck on my side this year!!
Good luck on the draws.

4 points so I went with unit 38 type 1 hunt. First hunt in Wyoming so looking forward to it. Will also put infor Antelope, got 4 points there as well, but hopefully I'll be able to hook up with a hunting partner that is also drawing but he has max points so I'll get into the special draw. If past years stays the norm for this year I should draw the unit we are looking at.

I have never been up to the Bighorns but I figure finding a place to camp won't be an issue. Hopefully I will fill them goat tags with plently of time to do a little scouting for elk. I would like to find somewhere to start where I can get off the raods and away from all the raod hunters. I figure like most places with plenty of road access where will be plenty of road hunters. No worries though again like most places get off the road a bit and let them road hunters drive the game to you, works pretty regular.

If I draw both my elk and antelope tags I'll be living in my 5th wheel in Wyoming from mid-September through the first week of November. I figure the wife will stay with me during the antelope hunt then go visit with friends when I head off to the Big Horns. I have yet to figure why she has put up with me all these years, she must be sicker than I am.

November muddy mountain, terrible for archery decent late season hunt. Almost regret applying for it and not sticking to my guns and saving preference points for a tag near my hometown of Rock Springs.

dcestnik,
I also put in for area 19 but my son and I put in for a type 1 tag. I have never hunted this area before and I want to give my son a good first elk hunt. I know private property is a big issue in area 19. Any advice?
