Have any of you both done DIY bivy and Drop Camp for archery elk?

If so, do you feel Drop Camp provided any advantage considering extra cost? Did it help you get away from other hunters? Would you do again?

Thanks

I've done this with rifle. If your with a good outfitter they usually will help with logistics on where the animals are. Your paying for them to drop you in a good place to be successful, information should come with that cost.

What he said. They shouldn't be dropping you in a dead zone

Bivy....limited amount of stuff.....limited amount of time to resupply.....which limits your hunting time.

Drop....2 pack animals can get you a palace into the woods......a ride in........and a ride out to include your meat.....equals almost all the time hunting vice logistics time to support the hunt.

IMO worth it when working with a trustworthy outfit........some will drop you where ever you want to go......so still do your homework and scouting of the animals/movement.

I had a good experience with a drop camp. The advice and packing out the deer was worth it. I did my own homework, a lot of it, but he put me onto a spot I probably wouldn't have thought to go. I saw other hunters who were as close as 100 yards to it and never gave it a look. They missed seeing a 30" deer and the glassing spot was 500 yards from my tent. Deer was about 900.
