Across the road from my grand kids school this evening..... About 40 miles south of Portland.

I hit a cow once at about 50 mph. I can tell you firsthand ,it don't make yer truck purty.

Nice photo. I bet it would be a real bad deal to hit a elk.

I got off lucky . only $3000 in damage and no injuries.

thank god I was driving a ford and not a chevy or dodge.lol

A few years ago I was coming home to Colorado from a hunting trip to Wyoming. Driving south from Baggs, thru Craig, Meeker & Rifle to I-70. Going thru Rifle and the highway was down to 1 lane south of town. I semi had hit a herd of elk crossing the highway during the night. Truck was demolished, driver killed and 30 elk dead. It was a mess.

When I lived out east, I used to head to northern Maine to hunt and fish. The moose crossing signs on I-95 down east used to make me nervous as we drove through the night. Never hit one but seen moose burger strewn across the interstate and likely coincidentally mangled guardrail right next to it. [emoji43]
