Crossbow use in Wyoming during Archery Season

Hello,

I've read some information that Wyoming allows the use of crossbows during regular archery seasons, however I can't find anything on the Game and Fish website. The "second hand" information I've read even includes specifics such as you may not use a leverage gaining device for cocking.

Does anyone have more specific information?

The only place I could find the info on the website was in the application booklets.

Section 14. c.
"Hunters holding General or Limited Quota hunting licenses may hunt
with bow and arrow or crossbow during Special Archery Seasons if they
first obtain an Archery license in addition to their valid hunting license."

"The crossbow hunter must be equipped
with a crossbow of not less than 90 pounds draw weight, that has a
minimum draw length of 14 inches from front of bow to back of string in
the cocked position and a positive safety mechanism. Crossbow bolts must
be at least 16 inches long. The broadhead of arrows or bolts shall be of
sharp steel with a minimum cutting width of one inch."

"A permit is no longer required to be able to use a leverage
gaining device for cocking a crossbow."

Thanks for the information. I'm a few years from an archery hunt in Wyoming, but this is an interesting development regarding crossbow use in Wyoming. I would be interested in crossbow hunting elk during the rut someday in Wyoming.
