Got some new kicks today. Crispi sent me the Wyoming?s on accident so I was able to check them out and they seemed to be a great boot also but I wanted a different lace system. I sent them back and they sent me the correct pair I wanted the Dakota GTX. Can wait to get these on and hiking. These have a stiffer sole then the Lapponia that I wear now and my arches start to bother me by the end of the day.

Now it's time to put some miles on them to break them in a bit before season.
Its always nice getting new gear.

That’s one great thing about Crispi is they break in real fast. I will wear these everyday for work as I do with the Lapponia now. But when I go to the hills after work the Lapponia sole is a little soft for me. I’ll keep them as early season hunting boots for Antelope since they are not worn out.

Pretty good. They are definitely a great built boot like my others.

They are a bit heavier then my previous Crispi boots I’ve worn to work so it took about a week or so to get used to the extra weight but they are good to go now.

One thing I ran into was a lot of squeaking after about 2 weeks. They just started to squeak overnight, it was very odd. I investigated on where the noise was coming from and it was the laces where they made contact with the eyelets. I waxed the laces where they meet and not a peep since. Crispi changed the laces from a round lace to a flat lace so maybe that’s why they squeaked.

IKC, what kind of a roof is that? Pretty cool looking.

It’s commercial tile of some sort. This is at a Claim Jumper restaurant here in Reno. We are waiting for the crane guys to set up the jib for a long lift of a 7.5 ton a/c package unit we are replacing.

Nice boots IKC!! Let us know how they hold up thru summer. My spouse wears a pair of Crispi’s and loves them. I’m thinking about a pair, but I’m kinda partial to my Kenetrek’s.

Wear what fits you well. That’s the key on high end boots.

I’ll keep you posted but they will only get better but they fit be awesome already.

I’ve got the Summit GTX. Love them so far, break in was quick and they are very comfortable and fit like a glove. I’ve got the same squeak at the laces tho. I’ll try your wax trick.

It will work. They haven’t made a sound since I waxed them.

I'm ready for another pair of boots and have been thinking about the Crispi Hunter. I've had Kenetreks, Hanwag, Meindles. Any thoughts on fit? True to size? Narrow or wide?

In my experience with my Crispi, they run pretty true to size and a hair on the wide side. I have a wide foot and got the 11.5EE Nevada's last year and they were way to wide. This year I picked up the summit gtx in just a normal 11.5 and they fit great and I am very happy with them. I've used kenetrek for years and really loved their boots, but for close to $500 now, ill stick with Crispi as I'm very happy with my boots from them and will be picking up some more

Trent, I know you used to wear Lowa's before switching to Crispi. Was just wondering why you made the switch and sticking with Crispi's. I've had multiple pairs of Lowa's and really like them; just wondering if there is something I'm missing.

I still wear the Lowa Tibet’s they still fit great and are comfortable. The sheep hunters started to hurt the tops of my feet where the lace loops are. They were about 4 years old when they started to hurt. Maybe they were worn out but the leather was still on great shape and the soles had plenty of tread.

I saw the first Crispi boots I bought on Camofire and pulled the trigger. When I get them I really like the dirt and how they easily broke in. I think after that I just really like the Crispi.

Now they are a sponsor of the forum and Eastmans so I like to buy from them even more. I like to buy products that sponsor us but sometimes it’s more about what works for me and Crispi is what I like. I have 3 pairs now and have no issues as of now that I would want to change to another brand. Don’t fix what’s not broken.

When it comes to boots, fit is king. I haven?t heard of any of the higher end boots failing, but I have heard of poor fit causing issues. Whatever you buy, make sure that they fit your unique feet.

yup! and also , wear them for a few weeks before your hunt , break em in.

can't tell you how many times I have hunted with folks , who buy brand new boots ,then go hiking in them the first time the really even wear them outside the store, and then they wonder why they get blisters.

I work construction and wear the same boots most every day as I do when I hunt and do not ever have blisters.

have also found danners to be as good a boot as any other on the market ,that I have tried , and far superior ,to most.

I generally get a year ,two at most out of any boot . even kenetrek did no better .

for me ,I cannot justify a five hundred dollar boot over a $250 boot ,when they seem to hold up no longer
