Cow or Calf?

I shot a cow in 2002 that was tougher than a boiled owl and tasted like a pinecone. It was bad....really bad...

I would shoot a calf or a bull.

The old cows can taste terrible! Got an old one about 3 years ago that had no teeth. And she was awful to eat. Was very gamey like a stinky mule deer, only bad elk Ive ever ate. Pick a younger one and you should be set!
