Got my core4element pants for Christmas! Pretty excited. Fit great, feel durable, pretty happy. Only question is anybody use them in heavier rain? I tend to hunt towards coast range late season so your chest deep in wet brush and can't tell if rain is coming down or up! I know they are see coated but how well do they keep dry? Thanks

I have the element pants and love them, can be a little warm for early season but I just unzip the vents in the thighs and that helps a lot. With the DWR treatment on them they will repel the rain pretty good until it starts to wear off, it does take quite a bit of water to soak them through. When it is raining or the grass or brush is wet I slip on my Torrent rain pants, they are the quietest rain pants I have ever had and are comfortable to wear as a stand alone pant when things get real wet. The torrent rain pants are on Camofire.com right now.

I have a jacket by Russell that was also treated with DWR. It did not stand up to a steady, spitting rain. That said, I think the DWR is for a light intermittent rain/moisture. If you're in the "wet stuff", I'd make sure and have some quality rain gear to stay absolutely dry. Just my observations.

I have the element pants and the switchback pants. I would say make sure and wear gators, and that will buy you some extra time. I got about 4 to 6 hrs during light to moderate rain before they soaked through up in the thigh area.
