I?ve never used any of these except a blind a couple times. So what?s the do?s & dont?s? Game cams are legal to use during the season? Blinds & tree stands can stay in the field for the season too? Any other specifics to mention?

So far it is wide open. But as afar as stands and blinds they can get destroyed pretty fast if you don't hang around them all the time. Plus if you come into a blind or a stand there is a possibility that someone else might of claimed it as their own.

I know that in Utah for a while the Forest Service and BLM were picking up cameras that they found, claiming that they were just like all the rest of the trash that they find.

From CPW - "The use of trail cameras is legal. However, once you hook a camera up to or sync to a device, it is no longer a legal method of use. Colorado prohibits the use of trail cameras that use the internet or other computer-assisted remote technology while hunting or fishing."

I would highly recommend using a security box and locking them if you're using them on public land. For blinds and tree stands, all I can say is good luck. There are a lot of people out there that will do anything from destroy them, steal or use where they are.

I think it's better to carry in a lightweight climber to use and take it back out. I know it's tough to find them much under 20 lbs but I would really worry about a stand I put out there.

You can also go with a Tree Stand Buddy where you only leave the bracket on the tree and just carry in the seat and platform, hoist that section up to the bracket with a rope, climb tree steps to the right height, insert them and pull the straps tight to the tree.

I've had pretty good luck with my trail cams and tree stands......although where I have them......the area rarely sees humans.

Ive got three cams out in Colorado right now. They have been out for a month and will finally be back to check them next weekend. If theyre still there. I fear bears or humans may have trashed them by now
