I shot this guy yesterday morning 45 minutes after shooting light. I have been watching him and a few others all week. The rut was still going strong and he was bugling all morning as he came up the ridge. I saw roughly 45 elk yesterday morning. Herd bulls were chasing satellite bulls and breeding cows. It sure does make rifle hunting easy when they are rutting. I was hunting by myself so I packed half of it out in the morning and then my mom and dad helped me pack the rest out in the afternoon. He is already at the processor and the taxidermist for a European mount. Here is a few pics. Good luck to everyone the rest of the fall.
