Well after 4 days of hard hunting, being busted by smaller bucks to get the bigger ones and cattle jumping out bucks were after outa their beds my brother and I finally sealed the deal on our archery Muleys. These 2 bucks were running together and my brother was first up on the shot he ended up spining his deer at 35 yards cause the bigger 4 point wouldn't give him a chance. After getting his dressed an back to the truck we were headed down the road and suddenly I look over and there is the big 4 point standing there. I couldn't even get my release on I was shaking so he ended up taking off. We booked it down the next switchback an there he was again. He was walking parallel to the road so I moved down a little ways found an opening and waited for him to clear it. I found my shot and thought I shot right over his back. Moved up to try an get another shot and couldn't get one. So we went to find my arrow and it's covered in blood and smells like guts. So we backed out an waited til this morning to go looking. We found blood an followed it an walked into him 60 yards from where I shot dead. I seen that I actually hit him in lungs and the rib must have kicked my arrow out the gut so happy and relieved to find him.

I really like his double brow tine an had no idea he even had it

This is the entrance hole from my dirt nap gear DRT broadheads, I really like these heads and even only hitting one lung and out the gut they put him down quick, with the way the lighting was we had no idea he was hit, these broadheads punched through 2 ribs an barely even slowed the arrow down, once we found him only 60 or so yards from where I shot we could examine the shot placement and it did work on the lung, this particular head has gone through hell so far with one missed shot and hitting a tree, going through 2 deer ribs all it really needs is a sharpening an it's ready for the next victim,

Good job. Don't ya just love that shaky feeling. All you have to do it the same thing you've done thousands of times one more time but those darn buck fever chills make everything feel brand new again.

I recall drawing back on a buck and having my broadhead end up in my sights....I haven't the slightest idea how it happened. In order to get my arrow back out I had to unscrew the broadhead. Its funny how something as simple as putting your release on your string becomes a difficult task.
