looking at colorado unit 76 3rd rifle hunt. Has anyone hunted during this time there? quality should be starting to come back and hunt dates are nov 2-10th so should be a few bucks showing interest in does.
Unit 711 dosent look to be as appealing but better country and access. sitting on 6pts and ready to burn them

I have not personally hunted 76 for deer but while elk hunting there saw a few decent bucks. The unit is known to have a pretty low population density though. Someone else may be able to add more.

No I?m a non resident. From all of my research it appears most of Colorado is 2-3 points for a 3rd season tag or 15+ points. I am open to suggestions

I saw a few big bucks and one giant a few years ago in 76 while elk hunting 1st season. I think they are gone come 3rd season.

In some areas the deer will migrate out of a area the first of October. I have seen great hunting areas where there are deer all over the place on October 1 and are completely gone come October 10th. A lot of deer will start to migrate as soon as there is a cold rain or snowstorm in the area which can even be in mid September.

That's what I've heard about the deer there, they are down to lower elevation and on private property by then. Excellent elk unit though.

I'm not an expert and I only hunted elk there twice. I think they just don't over winter in most of the unit. Alot go to 66 and 67
