What is everyone using for a cleaning vise/stand? I’m in need of a new one and have been looking at the Tiptons and Birchwood ones, but can’t decide.

I have the Tipton. Like you I looked at many before buying. It is decent but flimsy. I still use an older ”Site Vice” when I remove the barrel from the rifle. Not completely satisfied but am still using.

Maybe I'm cheap, but I just use a regular old mechanics vise on my workbench with plywood saddle blocks to keep the vise from marring the barrel steel.
This is the best. Its what the remington custom shop used. I have the tipton. Its ok for cleaning a rifle. Its unusable to hold a rifle level to install a scope.

The Tipton Ultra Gun vise looks pretty nice, would like to get my hands on one first before spending the money.
