I used to be a Range Master at a fairly good sized range and I did some long range work for a while so I've seen Christensen rifles and fired a few myself. My opinion is that if you've got the money, and you are doing something that requires high end equipment (like competition shooting) then they are worth the cost - otherwise a standard off-the-shelf rifle of good reputation will provide you with enough rifle to do the job. There is only so much you can do to improve the quality and accuracy of a rifle and there are a lot of good manufacturers out there, Christensen being one of them, but if the shooter isn't up to speed on his marksmanship skills then the rifle won't seem to have improved anything. In the end the shooter is the most important part of the shooting process, even if you have junk for a rifle you can learn to compensate for it's shortcomings and shoot it well. An expensive rifle just makes it easier for a good marksman to hit well.
