If you are looking for a base camp wood burning stove, Colorado Cylinder Stoves are good. You can check out the different models they offer on their website. I would recommend getting a larger size than you think you will need, not so much for the heat but the burn time is longer for the larger stoves
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.

I am with these guys on the Camp Chief stoves. I have had the two burner explore for 4 years now and it has always done the trick. I bought the grill box this summer and we use it for my daughters softball tournaments as well as camping trips. Get the carrying bag for it to keep it all together and you are good to go!

camp chief is the only way to go for a base camp. sneakypete, the grill box is awesome! I have the two burner and put grill box on one side and skillet on other side. ive been finding myself walking down to base camp more and more the last couple of years just to throw on some pine hens with spade L on the ole stove. MMMMMMMMM. damn, I cant wait till Monday to get back up to camp and have some taters and onions cooked on the hot cast iron, oh, and to hunt:cool: you have to be real good about cleaning the cast irons though, some coconut oil does wonders.

Ivory, thanks for the great info, it looks like a grill box will be going to Montana and staying there! I was pondering a propane small BBQ but after your info why bother! Have a great season!
