California Newbie

[Calbuck]

New to the forum, not new to hunting! Looking for some input and info, and willing to share some as well! I've been lurking here for a while, decided to register. I'm just getting started in my quest for out of state hunts, looking at mulies and elk. I've attached a pic of my 2012 X zone California "muletail". He was 22" wide, approximately 140 lbs. hanging. I was really damn glad to get him!

Thanks for the welcome guys..I've read a lot of great information on here already. I live near Fall River Mills. Grew up hunting and fishing on the Sacramento river around Chico and Corning. I'm really getting started back into hunting after a little hiatus. My son is getting old enough to go with me and he's really taking an interest, so that helps my enthusiasm level. Besides hunting deer and coyotes here in Cali, I'm interested in deer and elk in Idaho, Nevada and Arizona to name a few. I'm up for just about any western state though. Mostly hunted X1 in norcal with a little B and C zone action too. I did manage the buck in my picture in zone X4 last season. Really got me pumped up and ready to chase some real mulies!
