I just picked up an A32 tag as some of the left over tags are now available. Has anyone on here hunted A32 or the A zone South in the Ventura/Los Angeles area? Thank you in advance!

Ive been looking at hunting the area just north of the town of Ojai. What does that look like? Google earth doesn't give me a clear view of the vegetatio.

Hunted A Zone for years when it was in the "early or costal" season, which usually started in August. Lots of brush with steep canyons. Because it was hotter then this time of year, the deer stayed in the deeper canyons near shade, water & feed. Look into the Sespe Creek area. It has lots of water. The whole southern costal mts have lot of rattle snakes, so be careful when near water as that's where they are mostly.

Started hunting this area back in the 50's, havn't hunted it since I retired and moved out of calif in 2000. Lots of areas near Frazier Park and west to Apache Canyon have had their 4 wheel drive roads closed, so access is a lot different than when I hunted it.

Good luck.

So looking upon the regs, the area is only open south of Sespe Creek. Ill be glassing into canyons. My concern is sporting a deer that I have no chance of getting to because of the vegetation. I appreciate the help!
