I am looking for a full size, high end spotter. Other than the "big three". i was looking at other options like the cabelas euro HD , vortex, or kowa. I found the cabelas euro HD (a rebadged meopta meostar 82) rated a best buy on outdoor life 2013 scope review, with optical quality only bested by the Swarovski atx 95. I also found an online Petersons hunting 2013 spotting scope review where this meopta 82 was again only bested by the Swarovski atx. It rated higher than the leica apo 82 and zeiss diascope 85 fl on that Petersons hunting review. Does anyone have experience with this cabelas/meopta scope? With cabelas club points back and a coupon, I can pick it up for $1790. Thanks.

I compared the Cabelas with a dozen other scopes last year and narrowed it to the Cabelas and the Swarovski ATS after staring though them in all sorts of weather and lighting conditions for over a month at an eye chart I made and had at 100 and 1000 yds.

I ultiamtely went with the Swarovski due to price, weight, and I felt I had a little better image quality in low light with the Swaro. But I'm not sure I have anything bad to say about the Meopta spotting scope.

If all else fails try the Cabelas against something else and see how they compare. I'm a true believer that optics need to be tried in person as everyone's eyes are different.

I own the Cabelas Euro HD 15x56's and I absolutely love them. I will be getting the Euro HD Scope as well before this season. IMO you cant go wrong. The clarity is amazing, feels great in the hands, and the price cant be beat. You will not be disappointed with the Euros!
