Buying points and drawing points

Is it possible to get 2 points in 1 year in WY?

If I try and draw in Jan (unsuccessfully) and get a point can I still buy a point in September? I am just trying to figure out what year I will have a reasonable chance of drawing my unit.
Right now I have 2 points. I plan to buy a point in Sep(now at 3), then try and draw in Jan again(probably unsuccessfully makes 4) then buy another in Sept(makes 5) then go into draw with 5 in January and hopefully draw.

Does this sound right?

Sorry, but you are trying to collect one too many points! If you are unsuccessful in the draw in January, you will receive one point for the year. You can longer apply for a point in September. At least not for the same species.
