Just came back earlier today from ranch in SC Montana, rut is going full gear, was showing ranch to a few friends , who hadn't ever hunted there, kept running into bulls trying to show them the place, ended up backing out, lots of satellite bulls plus a few big boys with their gals, seeing them in action never get's old, you have to love this time of year.

That's good news we were in SW Montana last week and the high country was as quiet as a church mouse!! Only heard a few ill attempted bugles.

Don't tell me that! We're headed down south tomorrow for four more days to give it all we got! Hasn't been very vocal close to home either

Just came back Friday from few days of hunting sc montana, bagged 3 bulls, 12 yo knocked down his first bull, 17 yo bagged a nice 6 pt and another took a little 5 pt. Kind of a strange year, very mild, bulls still bugling and fighting, made for a good hunt for kids, seeing elk everyday and keeping their attention, hopefully a big one will be knocked down soon. Didn't spend much time at all deer hunting on the ranch we hunt, lots of does, but just small bucks, saw much better bucks in August, hopefully they have went nocturnal temporarily....
