I didn't do nearly as good this year as I normally do with my bow. I only ended up getting my antelope with my bow.. but I do feel like that's an accomplishment in itself since normally I get everything except my antelope with my bow! haha They are tricky animals to bow hunt! :)

Here's a story for ya. I shot a buck on public ground in CA opening weekend this year. After I put an arrow in him he went past another random hunter who also shot him. (Twice) The hunter was in his early 20's and after I found out the deer was his first with a bow I told him he could have the deer if he let me take a picture with it. I remember how happy I was when I shot my first buck with a bow and figured this was the best way to handle the situation at hand. Lets just say I made his season.

This was my first bow season. I had a deer, elk and antelope tag. Didn't fill any of them but I had more fun than I ever have while hunting and I always had fun so that's saying a lot. I got 1 good shot a spike on the last day of elk season. I screwed it up but I learned enough this year that I'm much more confident for next year. I just need to work on patients and being able to sit still for more than a few minutes.

aww!! that is so sweet of you!!

T43- I agree. I learned a lot this year also. I definitely need to work on my patience as well but I really do feel a lot more confident for next year!

Folks,

I'd love to post my Mountain Goat story but I submitted it to EBJ. Hopefully I'll make one of the upcoming EBJ issues.

Great season Maxhunter, maybe next year you'll let me tag along with you, and uh, help pack meat, yeah that's it, help pack meat.
