Lookin to bow hunt elk in montana genral tag . Lookin at goin to unit 329 or 324 .Like to hike back pack in a mile or more. Any one have any thoughts or hunted these units. any suggetions would be appreciated. thanx.

Those units have a lot of public land with good access. Elk can literally be anywhere in those units. The trick will be moving until you find the hot bulls. Just getting that "mile or more" away from the roads will improve your chances. Rutting elk are often lower than you would think in both of those units, so again, being versatile is key.
