Too many variables?
I wear my PHs during CO first and second but I have a heavy pair of 600gram ready to pinch-hit…...

Elevation and unit would help answer that one.
Second season can range from 15 to 75 (at least where I hunt)
There are units where 2nd season might be a stretch.

Go over to the NEW MEMBERS section and tell us a little about yourself.

Depends a lot on elevation an weather. Some years I am wearing my un-insulated hikers clear into November, and some years I have broke out the 12" 200 gram pack boots in September. I've found the 200 gram pack boots to be ideal for hunting in deeper snow (6"+). If you plan on sitting for a long time they are a little under-gunned, but typically I am moving relatively frequently enough to make for a good mix of warmth and maneuverability. If there is little or no snow then it's just un-insulated all leather hiking boots.

Be prepared for anything that time of year. You could get snow in September and want insulated boots or you could be using uninsulated boots in November. I got caught unprepared in an early snow storm once. I have packed for anything ever since.
