Bit of Help Deciding

Hey Guys,

So me and one friend are planning a trip to Wy next year for antelope. We have both been there before, but have used guides in the past, but this time we are planning a DIY hunt. I was just curious as to some opinions on the areas we are considering applying to.

We have our first choice zones narrowed down to 78 or 110. I have potentially lined up a bit of private land in 78, and i can see that there is a decent chunk of BLM as well. 110 is appealing because of the BLM and the unrestricted HMA's. We have just enough preference points for either of these units. Im just curious if anyone has any opinions on which of these might offer a better hunt number and quality wise.

Should we not draw our first choice, we are thinking about either 22 or 25 or possibly 7, but it looks like this year we would have just squeaked in on 7. Kind of thinking we should go for 7, and then 22 or 25 for a 3rd. I have been spending alot of time learning what I can about these units, and got my hands on some BLM maps for the areas, as well as printed off the county road maps so i know what i can and cant use. Of course, i would have the GPS with the landownership downloaded onto to it before heading into any of these zones. I guess again im just curious if you guys think were on the right track with putting 7 ahead of 22 or 25, or if maybe we should re-evaluate or decision making.

I should mention that when we hunted wyoming before, it was in 22 on BLM land with a guide (went the cheap route, just wanted to hunt antelope and werent concerned enough about the size of bucks to pay the extra $'s for a private land hunt). Again, this time we dont expect a huge buck by any means, just want to have a fun hunt and see some goats.

Thanks in advance for any info fella's!

I can't help with either 78 or 110. But, if you have an idea on what 22 is like than I would definitely go that route unless you like learning new areas every time you hunt.

Unfortunately I didn't really learn much other than what to expect to see goat wise there. It was a few years ago and guided and at that time didn't think I would have money to return there, so didn't store too much "useful" information, lol. The extent of what I remember is that we were hunting BLM land by kaycee, haha.

I actually downloaded onx hunt a couple days though, and that seems like it will really help a guy out in zones, especially the tough access ones.
