Bird watching

Any amateur ornithologists out there? We put birdseed out for the birds recently and finally saw some birds we have never seen in our area. First there was only one and now there are four. We live in southern Nevada so I'm thinking maybe they only winter here.
Any ideas?

Yep ...Meadowlark male. We have lots of them here in the spring/summer. Love to hear them sing during breeding season! They do migrate.
